Our therapists will deliver and combine several different psychological methods to ensure that we can work most effectively. Many clients normally think, feel and behave in different ways, which does feel important to them as a unique individual.
Meet Alva
We work in a non-judgmental way, which is respectful of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy ethical framework and policies. This service believes that a commitment to confidentiality, safety and have a respectful attitude is essential.
This service has a history of supporting people to cope with their challenges and difficulties. The service was founded in 2018 by our managing director and senior therapist, Alva Spencer, in Stockport.
The service covers a wide range of therapeutic and holistic approaches, which covers many areas like relationship counselling, panic attacks, stress, addiction therapy, bereavement, anxiety, depression and abuse. Sometimes our clients are not sure of the area of therapy they need or want to work in and may just want to talk in a safe environment without any advice or judgement.
Once you make an appointment with us, we will invite you to come to our consulting rooms in Stockport, Cheadle or video call i.e. Skype, WhatsApp for an initial consultation with a Therapist.
This initial session is as much about the client, finding out who we are as a service and for us to exploring what the particular issue is and how we are going to approach it. For many new clients contacting a new service for the first time is a massive task, so many clients need to be sure that the service we offer is the right one for them before agreeing to go any further with us.
There are no limits to how many sessions you need to sign up for. In our experience, some people will be able to support themselves after several sessions, while others might need a longer period.
Our therapists can also provide psychological approaches and treatment including the following:
Anger Management
Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR)
If you require further details, please contact us for more details on these approaches.
